Today is a very important day in Washington DC. I am extremely excited to be a part NARAL’s Men For Choice event again this year. I could not be more proud to stand up for a woman’s Constitutional right to choose. I have seen over the past several years, an intense coordinated attack on women’s healthcare in this country by far-right Republicans.

We need to remain vigilant of their attacks on women, and I will make sure that I am there to fight back at every turn. Choice is more than just abortion and it’s not just a women’s issue, it is an issue that affects everyone. Men need to stand up in support of a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body.  

The timing of this event could not be any more apropos because the Republicans will host their second presidential debate to see who will be the torchbearer in the war on women. With extremist conservatives in the Senate and House looking to shut down the government over funding Planned Parenthood, there is no doubt abortion will be brought up in tonight’s debate.

I saw candidates in last month’s debate stand against abortion in all circumstances, and I will certainly hear from more candidates tonight how they plan to destroy a woman’s right to choose. Tonight we will see a clear divide in the type of country we want to live in. In Washington, there will be a celebration of the partnership shared by men and women to protect a woman’s freedom to be in control of her body. In California, we will see a collection of mostly male candidates demand that women in America submit to their draconian ideology. Tonight, we as a company are proud to stand in support of women across America; and will be watching the GOP debates to see what dystopian hellscape they have planned for us.
